About the Parade
This Parade was designed to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the manner of all the big Cities, with joyous revelry and happy hearts, and a walk/trundle/march through downtown. the Parade takes place downtown and is open to any and all to partake in the March of the Emerald Parade.
We get dressed in our best Green and share our goodwill and joyful celebrations with all we meet. We have taken the 'GREEN' part of this Holiday to the letter and do our best to make our floats, banners, flags and balloons out of mostly recycled, reclaimed, and reused items..
We make and create floats and costumes with Papier Mache, cardboard, glue, paint sparkles and imagination.. Costumes often originate as Value Village castaways and with some cutting, sewing, shaping, sequining and gluing end up as couture items to be proud of, for sure.
